Cardiac Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Clinic

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cardiac Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client’s dynamic outpatient clinic team in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care and be committed to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Cardiac RN, you will play a critical role in providing specialized nursing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout their treatment journey.

The annual base salary range is $85,000 to $95,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions in an outpatient clinic setting
  • Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, EKG monitoring, and cardiovascular assessments, to evaluate and monitor heart health
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols
  • Educate patients and their families on cardiovascular health, treatment plans, medication management, and lifestyle modifications
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Monitor and document patient progress, updating care plans and communicating changes to the healthcare team as needed
  • Assist in the coordination of diagnostic tests, such as stress tests, echocardiograms, and lab work, and provide pre- and post-test patient education
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to infection control and safety guidelines
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
  • Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients and families dealing with cardiac conditions, promoting a positive patient experience

 

Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in NJ
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with a focus on cardiac care preferred
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular conditions, treatments, and medications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and support patients and families
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient setting and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation
