About the Opportunity
Our client is a prestigious law firm that is seeking a meticulous and highly analytical Conflicts Specialist to join their team in either New York City or Washington D.C. This individual will play a key role in supporting the firm’s risk management processes by identifying and analyzing potential conflicts of interest for new matters, clients, and lateral hires. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in conflicts or legal compliance within a law firm environment, with strong research skills and a high level of discretion. This role can be fully remote but must be working east coast hours.
The annual base salary range is $75,000 to $95,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform research in public databases and within the Firm’s conflict management systems
- Assist in obtaining information necessary for the Firm to determine whether or not it may accept new clients and matters under prevailing ethical rules, applicable law, and internal policies
- Input and maintain data in the conflicts review database
- Assist in conflicts checks related to the hiring of attorney and non-attorney staff, as needed
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of Conflicts experience
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Excellent communication skills
