About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Nursing to lead and manage our client’s nursing team within a hospital setting. As the Director of Nursing, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic direction, clinical expertise, and leadership to ensure the highest quality of patient care, promote staff development, and contribute to the overall success of their behavioral health facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to improving mental health outcomes.
The annual base salary range is $150,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the behavioral health nursing department, ensuring effective clinical operations, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care programs that align with evidence-based practices and promote holistic well-being
- Lead and mentor a team of psychiatric nurses and nursing assistants, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols that align with best practices and regulatory standards
- Monitor and assess patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and quality improvement initiatives, using data-driven insights to drive continuous enhancement of care delivery
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Oversee staffing levels, manage schedules, and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for nursing staff
- Address patient and family concerns, ensuring open communication, empathy, and timely resolution of issues
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives, committees, and leadership meetings to contribute to the overall success of the organization
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines, accreditation standards, and ethical principles
Job Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of New Jersey
- At least 3 years of nurse leadership experience require
- At least 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience required
- Strong clinical skills and in-depth knowledge of psychiatric nursing practices, interventions, and regulations
