About the Opportunity
Our client, a prestigious FinTech firm in Manhattan, is seeking a talented and creative External Communications Specialist to join their team. This individual will play a key role in producing high-quality content (e.g. research pieces and executive presentations to market commentary) designed to enhance the firm’s visibility and thought leadership across multiple channels.
The Communications Specialist will collaborate closely with teams across research, technology, investor relations, and legal to gather insights and ensure consistent, accurate messaging. Responsibilities include driving content projects from concept to completion, researching market trends and industry developments, and building relationships across the firm to surface innovative ideas.
The ideal candidate is a versatile writer and project manager, skilled at translating complex topics into clear, engaging material. This individual is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to navigate multiple priorities while supporting the firm’s external communication and brand strategy.
The annual base salary range is $120,000 to $180,000 + bonus. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and editing process for a range of written materials, including longer-form research pieces, presentations for conferences and speaking engagements, and shorter commentary distributed across different channels
- Partner with colleagues across investment research, technology, investor relations, communications, and legal to gather insights, ensure factual accuracy, and align messaging across teams
- Conceptualize and drive projects that strengthen how the team identifies ideas, develops content, and distributes insights to a broader audience. Build relationships with professionals across the firm to surface emerging themes and translate them into thoughtful perspectives and publishable materials
- Manage timelines and coordinate the full lifecycle of projects from early concept through drafting, review, and final delivery while keeping multiple stakeholders aligned
- Conduct background research on market trends, industry developments, and technology topics to support the creation of informed, well-structured content
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of communications/marketing experience with strong research, analysis, writing, and project coordination skills
- Exposure to areas such as finance, economics, statistics, or another analytical discipline is strongly preferred
- Ability to quickly learn complex subjects and a proactive mindset is key
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
