About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our client’s outpatient gastroenterology practice on Long Island, NY. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a specialized field, providing care for patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. The annual base salary range is $110,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with gastrointestinal disorders
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory work and imaging studies
- Perform and assist with procedures related to gastroenterology, under the supervision of a physician as needed
- Provide patient education on diagnosis, treatment options, and preventive measures
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in gastroenterology
Job Requirements
- Active and unrestricted NP or PA license, valid in NY
- Interest in gastroenterology and a willingness to learn and grow in the field
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
