About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our client’s dynamic team in Bloomfield, NJ. This provider will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care to adult patients admitted to the hospital. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, team-oriented individual with a strong clinical background in inpatient medicine and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
The annual base salary range is $140,000 to $175,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of hospitalized adults
- Perform comprehensive physical exams, review medical histories, and develop individualized treatment plans
- Order, interpret, and follow-up on diagnostic tests, including lab work, radiology, and other studies
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
- Respond to changes in patient status and promptly intervene as needed
- Manage the admission and discharge process for patients, including history-taking, physical exams, and the creation of initial management plans
- Conduct patient discharge rounds and provide detailed discharge instructions to patients and families
- Ensure appropriate documentation for all patient encounters in the medical record
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, case reviews, and care coordination activities
- Consult with specialists and other hospital teams as needed to optimize patient care
- Serve as an integral part of the Hospitalist team, contributing to department goals and initiatives
- Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment options, and post-hospital care
- Address patient and family concerns, ensuring clear and compassionate communication
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines
- Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and reimbursement requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
- Participate in on-call or weekend rotations as required by the department
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing (for NP) or Physician Assistant program (for PA)
- FNP, AGNP, or PA license in New Jersey
- Prior experience as a hospitalist is required
