HR Business Analyst

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading global investment firm with diversified trading strategies and a focus on risk-managed growth, is looking an HR Business Analyst to join their team in New York City. This analyst drives key human resources transformation projects by evaluating processes, developing recommendations, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization to implement strategic initiatives. The position calls for a proactive, inquisitive professional with strong relationship-building skills to ensure progress and successful execution of complex projects.

The annual base salary range is $70,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to clarify business objectives and operational needs
  • Lead interviews, workshops, and surveys to capture comprehensive requirements
  • Prepare detailed documentation including business requirements, user stories, and use cases
  • Examine current processes, workflows, and systems to identify improvement opportunities
  • Interpret data to guide strategic planning and decision-making
  • Present insights using visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Collaborate with project teams to design and recommend solutions for business challenges
  • Draft functional specifications for new systems or enhancements to existing platforms
  • Partner with technical teams to ensure solutions meet organizational objectives
  • Oversee complex, cross-functional projects with multiple priorities and dependencies
  • Develop project plans, manage scope, and provide regular updates to HR leadership
  • Deliver projects on schedule while mitigating risks and addressing issues promptly
  • Build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Serve as the link between business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues clearly to diverse audiences
  • Lead workshops, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional meetings to gather input and drive alignment
  • Create user procedures, guidelines, and documentation
  • Provide training for new users and clients on processes and system functionality
  • Work closely with change management teams to align analysis efforts with organizational transitions
  • Support end-user adoption and engagement during process or system changes

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, project management, or a related discipline
  • Background in overseeing complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success working in small, collaborative teams and adapting to fast-changing environments
  • Knowledge of HR platforms such as Workday or HR ServiceNow and experience with process-improvement efforts
