About the Opportunity
Our client, a mission-driven healthcare organization in New York City, is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to provide compassionate, high-quality care to individuals, including those living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS and other chronic conditions. The individual in this role will deliver comprehensive primary care services, focusing on prevention, treatment, and ongoing management of health concerns in a supportive and patient-centered environment. This full-time, direct-hire position offers competitive salary, paid medical insurance, and PTO. The annual base salary range is $110,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical and psycho-social history evaluations and physical exams, with a focus on HIV/AIDS and related health conditions
- Diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and provide follow-up care tailored to the needs of individuals affected by Infectious Diseases
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, including screenings and diagnostics related to HIV/AIDS management
- Prescribe and manage medications, including antiretroviral therapy (ART) and other treatments for chronic conditions
- Provide health education and counseling on HIV prevention, medication adherence, and overall wellness
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, ensuring comprehensive support for patients with complex medical and social needs
- Implement infection control measures and uphold high standards of patient care, particularly in immunocompromised populations
Job Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
- Minimum of 1 year of primary care experience
- Experience working with individuals affected by HIV/AIDS or other at-risk populations strongly preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate, stigma-free care
