About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established global alternative investment firm with more than 300 employees across New York and the UK. They are seeking a resourceful Engineer to join their Infrastructure team in New York City, delivering innovative solutions and top-tier support that drive the firm’s trading and investment strategies. This role offers exposure to multiple business units, steady leadership, and an environment that embraces emerging technologies.
The annual base salary range is $130,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Focus on infrastructure engineering with occasional support for desktop initiatives
- Serve as an individual contributor while gaining opportunities to lead projects and mentor team members as the role grows
- Assist with the rollout of new systems
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering and operations experience supporting a global, hybrid technology environment—ideally within financial services or trading
- Preferred background in designing enterprise storage, network, and compute systems
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft identity and infrastructure tools (Entra ID, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, NAC, Certificate Services) and Microsoft 365
- Skilled in Windows systems engineering and lifecycle management using Group Policy, Intune, Ivanti EPM/Neurons, with a focus on security and reliability
- Hands-on experience with virtualization and containers (VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Podman)
- Familiar with data-protection and disaster-recovery solutions such as Commvault, Rubrik, Zerto, and Azure Site Recovery
- Proficient in observability and alerting platforms (Grafana Cloud, LogicMonitor, Elastic, OpsGenie)
- Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and Python
- Knowledge of IT service management and project tools (ITIL practices, Confluence, JIRA, ServiceNow)
- Linux administration (e.g., Red Hat) a plus
- Experience with multi-cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS) across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS preferred
