About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and patient-centered Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses (RNs) for full-time contract roles across several NYC hospital systems. In this position, you’ll provide comprehensive obstetric care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. This opportunity offers strong pay, flexible scheduling, and the chance to support families during one of the most important moments of their lives.
The base pay for this position is $70 to $75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, including vital signs and fetal heart tracings
- Administer medications and assist with epidurals, inductions, and other obstetric procedures
- Assist obstetricians, midwives, and anesthesia staff during vaginal and cesarean births
- Provide patient education, emotional support, and clear communication throughout the birthing process
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
- Promote a safe, calm, and supportive environment for patients and families
Job Requirements
- Active New York State RN license (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience (required)
- BLS and NRP certifications (required; ACLS preferred)
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and patient advocacy skills
