About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate, visionary Medical Director to lead and expand our client in New York City’s outpatient clinical services for LGBTQ+, transgender, and HIV/AIDS-affected populations. This individual will oversee the delivery of high-quality, culturally competent, patient-centered care in a mission-driven, community-focused setting. The Medical Director will serve as both a clinical leader and strategic advisor, ensuring excellence in care, compliance, and innovation across all medical services. This is an excellent opportunity for a Staff Physician to gain leadership experience!
The annual base salary range is $180,000 to $220,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight to primary care, HIV/AIDS care, transgender health services, and behavioral health integration
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals
- Ensure evidence-based medical practices aligned with the unique needs of LGBTQ+ and HIV-positive communities
- Collaborate with leadership to design and implement new services and programs addressing emerging community health needs
- Expand gender-affirming care, PrEP/PEP access, STI treatment, and chronic disease management
- Oversee clinical quality improvement initiatives, including patient outcomes, satisfaction, and risk management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including HRSA, OSHA, HIPAA, and public health reporting
- Train and mentor clinical staff on best practices in culturally competent care for LGBTQ+ and transgender individuals
- Act as a medical advocate and representative in community partnerships, public health initiatives, and health equity efforts
Job Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school; board certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, or related field
- Active and unrestricted medical license in NY
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, no previous leadership experience required!
- Demonstrated commitment to health equity and experience working with LGBTQ+ and transgender populations
- Expertise in HIV/AIDS care, including antiretroviral therapy, PrEP/PEP, and comorbidity management
- Experience in community health, nonprofit, or FQHC settings preferred
- Bilingual/bicultural skills are a plus
