About the Opportunity
Our client, a non-profit organization in Monmouth County, New Jersey, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor to provide community-based mental health services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, person-centered care that promotes recovery, stability, and independence. The ideal candidate must hold a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in addition to a social work license.
The annual base salary range is $60,000 to $75,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct therapeutic services, including individual and group counseling, to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other professionals to coordinate care
- Assist clients in accessing community resources, housing, employment, and social services
- Provide crisis intervention and on-call support as needed
- Educate clients and their families on mental health and substance use treatment options
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training to enhance professional development
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health related field required
- LPC or LCSW certification in NJ required
- Prior experience providing treatment services to adults, children, and/or adolescents
- Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions for individuals with co-occurring disorders
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, field-based setting
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
