About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading technology-driven investment manager, is seeking a Network Engineer to join their Systems Infrastructure team in New York City. This on-site position is responsible for leading and executing network engineering projects, including counterparty integrations, office buildouts, and ongoing improvements to the firm’s network infrastructure. The role offers significant technical responsibility and growth potential as the scope expands beyond traditional networking to include cloud and automation initiatives.
The annual base salary range is $200,000 to $250,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive and supervise network engineering projects, such as counterparty integrations, new office buildouts, and continuous networking initiatives
- Design, implement, operate, and support network infrastructure across all layers of the environment
- Manage and maintain routing, switching, and firewall systems
- Expand and support cloud networking capabilities with a focus on AWS infrastructure
- Develop and maintain scripting and automation tools to increase operational efficiency
- Ensure adherence to evolving network security best practices and governance controls
- Collaborate closely with other infrastructure and cross-functional teams on shared projects and business objectives
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in network engineering or network security roles
- Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, and firewall technologies
- Demonstrated proficiency with scripting or programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
- Familiarity with network security practices, standards, and technologies
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly; proactive, team-oriented approach
- Experience with AWS or other public cloud networking environments preferred
- Prior experience in the financial industry is a plus, but not required
