About the Opportunity
An established education network located in West Hempstead is currently seeking a part-time/per diem Occupational Therapist to provide services after school in the child’s home. You will be tasked with evaluating your student to establish their capabilities and monitoring their status to determine any needed recommendations. The base pay range for this position is $50 to $60 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration to ensure understanding of student strengths and need
- Evaluate student to establish performance capabilities
- Teach necessary adaptive skills
- Monitor therapy status and make appropriate recommendations as changes occur
- Record all progress notes and documentation in a timely manner
- Develop intervention plans based on student needs and evaluations
- Review results and develop education/intervention plans to achieve necessary goals
- Collaborate to increase the understanding of student’s performance
- Follow treatment plan to improve, develop, or maintain child’s active participation
- Communicate and interact with other team members, school personnel, and families
Job Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited OT program recognized by NBCOT
- New York State OTR/L Licensure
- One year of experience as an occupational therapist ideal but not required
- Hours will be after school (typically after 2pm or 3pm)
