About the Opportunity
Our client is a leader in providing comprehensive medical care and rehabilitation services to injured workers throughout New York City. Their mission is to help individuals regain their functional abilities and return to work through expert care and personalized treatment plans.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physiatrist to join their multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work with patients who have sustained work-related injuries, providing expert diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation services.
The annual base salary range is $230k to $300k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Evaluate and manage patients with a range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions resulting from workplace injuries
- Rehabilitation Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation plans aimed at restoring function, reducing pain, and facilitating a safe return to work
- Collaboration: Work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and case managers, to deliver coordinated and effective care
- Medical Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including detailed reports for workers’ compensation cases, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards
- Interventional Procedures: Perform a variety of interventional procedures, such as joint injections, trigger point injections, and nerve blocks, as appropriate for the patient’s condition
- Patient Education: Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to avoid future injuries
- Consultation: Provide expert consultation to other healthcare providers and contribute to multidisciplinary case reviews as needed
Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of New York
- Prior experience in treating workers’ compensation cases is highly desirable, but not required
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, with a focus on musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
