Physician Assistant (Ortho)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our New Jersey client’s practice and provide exceptional patient care. This Orthopedic PA will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and managing orthopedic conditions, assisting in surgeries, and contributing to the overall well-being of their patients.

The annual base salary range is $100,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to accurately diagnose and develop treatment plans for orthopedic conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons to provide comprehensive patient care, including pre-operative evaluations, surgical assistance, and post-operative management
  • Interpret diagnostic imaging results, such as X-rays, MRI, and CT scans, to assist in diagnosis and treatment decision-making
  • Perform joint injections, wound care, and other minor procedures as directed by orthopedic surgeons
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment options, post-operative care, and rehabilitation plans, ensuring a clear understanding of their condition and recovery process
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, prescribe medications, and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed
  • Assist in the operating room, participating in surgical procedures under the guidance of orthopedic surgeons
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR) systems, maintaining organized and up-to-date patient records
  • Collaborate with the medical team, including nurses, physical therapists, and medical assistants, to provide coordinated and effective patient care
  • Stay current with advancements in orthopedic medicine, attending conferences and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills

 

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Must be licensed in NJ as a Physician Assistant
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Physician Assistant required
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic conditions, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to make informed decisions about patient care
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy patient load
