About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our client’s team at a community health center. The team, located in the Bronx, is dedicated to providing high-quality mental health care to underserved populations.
The annual base salary range is $135,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment plans for patients across the lifespan
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with evidence-based guidelines
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and case managers, to deliver holistic care
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide follow-up care
- Document all patient interactions and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR) accurately and promptly
- Participate in community outreach and education initiatives to promote mental health awareness
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in psychiatric care and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
Job Requirements
- Active and unrestricted PMHNP license in NY
- At least 2 years of experience working in psychiatric care, preferably in an outpatient or community health setting
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including those with co-occurring disorders
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
