About the Opportunity
Our client, one of the world’s largest global alternative asset managers, is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant in New York City to support its flagship opportunistic real estate private equity fund in a newly created role. This position goes well beyond traditional fund accounting, offering exposure to fund operations, investor reporting, credit facility administration, FX and derivative transactions, and fund-level strategy execution.
The annual base salary range is $115,000 to $135,000, plus a 15% target bonus. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Review financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS investment company accounting
- Review fund administrator deliverables
- Prepare supporting workpapers
- Review capital call and distribution notices, management fees, and complex waterfall calculations
- Maintain investor capital accounts
- Support year-end audits, tax reporting, and regulatory filings
Job Requirements
- 3.5–5 years of private equity experience in Big 4 or top-tier public accounting, fund administration, or fund accounting
- Bachelor’s degree
- A CPA or progress toward one is preferred
- Strong technical accounting skills and hands-on waterfall and management fee experience
- Real estate fund and Investran experience are a plus
