About the Opportunity
Our client, a global leader in financial data and technology, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Public Cloud Engineering organization in New York City. This hybrid, high-impact, and growth-oriented position focuses on designing and building the core platforms, tools, and automation that drive cloud adoption, governance, security, and developer enablement across a global enterprise.
The annual base salary range is $160,000 to $240,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate platform capabilities for public cloud adoption, governance, deployment, connectivity, and identity management
- Develop scalable, secure self-service tooling, APIs, and automated workflows to streamline developer experience and reduce operational complexity
- Partner with engineering, SRE, infrastructure, and information security teams to capture requirements and drive platform adoption and best practices
- Build and maintain production-grade, reliable, and maintainable solutions for internal and cloud platform domains
- Use infrastructure-as-code and advanced software engineering practices to automate platform operations
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of standards, platform architectures, and paved-road solutions for cloud environments
- Drive the long-term evolution of foundational cloud platforms, supporting multi-cloud strategy and cross-team initiatives
- Mentor colleagues, contribute to shared platform knowledge, and support enterprise-level technical decision-making
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering, infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering
- Advanced programming skills in Go, Python, Java, C++, or similar language(s)
- Experience designing/building/operating production systems at-scale (preferably across public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong Linux/Unix skills and understanding of distributed systems, software design, and data structures
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform)
- Demonstrated success driving automation-focused improvement initiatives
Preferred Skills
- Background in internal developer or cloud platform engineering; experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native tech
- Deep understanding of cloud governance, security, compliance, identity management, or secrets management
- Experience with network automation, hybrid networking, or compute platform orchestration
- Familiarity with developer tooling, observability/monitoring, and highly available distributed systems
- Contributions to shared platforms within large-scale or regulated enterprise environments; open source experience a plus
