About the Opportunity
Our client is a community health center dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to the child/adolescent population. They are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team and contribute to their mission of accessible and patient-centered care, with a specific focus on behavioral health services for minors. The NP/PA will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive primary and behavioral health care services to minors in the community. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide preventive care, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, and promote mental health wellness among their young patients.
The annual base salary range is $85,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary and behavioral health services to minors, including mental health assessments, preventive care, and treatment of acute and chronic medical and behavioral health conditions
- Collaborate with child and adolescent psychiatrists to evaluate, diagnose, and manage behavioral health conditions in minors
- Conduct thorough physical examinations, obtain medical and mental health histories, and perform assessments to diagnose and develop treatment plans, with a focus on behavioral health concerns
- Engage with patients’ families to provide support, education, and guidance in managing their children’s mental health conditions
- Provide crisis intervention and support for unaccompanied minors in acute behavioral health crises, coordinating with crisis teams and emergency services as needed
- Educate patients and their families on mental health, treatment options, coping strategies, and resources available for ongoing support
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including pediatricians, social workers, and counselors, to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for minors
- Work closely with the migrant population
Job Requirements
- NP or PA License required
- Spanish-speaking fluency required
- Experience working in behavioral health services for minors
- Experience in an FQHC or similar setting
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, particularly in child and adolescent psychiatry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with minors and their families
- Commitment to providing patient-centered and culturally sensitive care
