About the Opportunity:
A Dental Assistant provides a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The role involves a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations, requiring exceptional customer service and communication skills. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $18.15 to $21.45 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator, providing valuable information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments and positioning them for the dentist's access.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies and handling study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance by fabricating temporary restorations and polishing removable appliances.
- Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records, maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrate dedication to a safe and hygienic work environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional networks.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- CPR card.
- Certified Dental Assistant, DANB.
- X-Ray certification.
