About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position on a specialized med-surg unit focuses on providing intensive symptom management and end-of-life care for patients aged 18 and up. Responsibilities include delivering compassionate care to patients with complex needs, skillful IV and wound care, and adeptly managing both patients and families in crisis. Astute assessment skills are crucial to advocate for patients who may lack the ability to speak for themselves. The unit also accommodates general medicine overflow.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.70 to $61.10 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and creating individualized care plans.
- Providing skilled IV and wound care management.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress and changes in condition.
- Staying informed on palliative care practices and developments.
Job Requirements:
- Valid NYS RN License.
- Minimum two years of recent palliative or acute med/surg experience.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification is highly desirable.
