About the Opportunity:
Join our team as a Pharmacist providing expert care in acute inpatient settings, including the Emergency Department and Psychiatric wards. This part-time contract position involves working schedules every weekend (2 days off on Tues/Wed or Wed/Thurs) with shifts from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. Pharmacists in this role ensure accurate medication dispensing, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and engage with patients to deliver optimal pharmaceutical care.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $79.33 to $93.76 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct medication dispensing and review for accuracy and effectiveness.
- Provide pharmaceutical education and counsel to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to coordinate medication therapy.
- Monitor and document patient medication plans and progress.
- Stay informed on advancements in pharmacy practice and medication safety.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute inpatient setting.
- Valid license to practice as a Pharmacist issued by NYSED, Primary Source Verification required.
- Experience with pharmacy dispensing systems and sterile processing preferred.
- Proficiency in using an EMR (Electronic Medical Records system) is a plus.
