About the Opportunity
Our client is a nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable primary care to individuals and families across New York City and Hudson Valley. They are actively searching for a School-Based FNP in Manhattan to provide high-quality healthcare services to students, promoting their overall well-being, and supporting a healthy learning environment. This position combines advanced clinical skills with a strong commitment to improving the health and wellness of students.
The annual base salary range is $115,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to students, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Develop and deliver health education programs and initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles, preventive care, and student wellness
- Administer and oversee immunization programs to ensure compliance with state and school immunization requirements
- Conduct and manage health screenings, such as vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings, to identify potential health issues
- Monitor and manage chronic health conditions among students, collaborating with families and healthcare providers when necessary
- Provide immediate care in the event of medical emergencies on campus, including injury assessment, first aid, and life support as needed
- Administer and manage medications for students as prescribed, maintaining accurate medication records
- Collaborate with school staff, teachers, parents, and external healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to student health
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all students, including health assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Make referrals to specialists when necessary, ensuring that students receive appropriate follow-up care
Job Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Experience in primary care, pediatrics, or school-based healthcare is preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work with diverse student populations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with students and their families
