About the Opportunity
Our client, a global electronic trading organization, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their New York City finance team. This high-impact position is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, overseeing the financial close, enforcing internal controls, and partnering with cross-functional teams to support settlement, clearing, and reconciliation workflows in a dynamic trading environment. The role offers significant visibility and the opportunity to drive process automation, policy development, and continuous improvement.
The annual base salary range is $135,000 to $150,000, with total comp up to $185,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure adherence to GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal controls
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize settlement, clearing, reconciliation, and other trading-related financial processes
- Prepare, review, and deliver complex financial reports, variance analyses, and monthly/quarterly reporting packages
- Assist in drafting and finalizing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Coordinate financial and operational audits, liaising with both internal and external auditors
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, focusing on automation and system improvements in partnership with technology/development teams
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes impacting accounting and electronic trading activities
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA required (or active progress toward license)
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in electronic trading, financial services, or public accounting
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced skills in Excel
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to collaborate across teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment
