Licensed Clinical Social Worker – ICU/ER Trauma Program

About the Opportunity

Make a difference in the moments that matter most. Our client, a busy, high-acuity Bronx hospital, is adding a dedicated LCSW to its multidisciplinary Trauma Program to walk alongside injured patients and their families from the Emergency Department through discharge and beyond. This is a direct-hire role with a clear focus on trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.

The annual base salary range is $88,000 to $95,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow trauma patients across the full continuum of care: the Emergency Department, inpatient and step-down units, ICUs, rehab, and outpatient follow-up
  • Screen patients on admission, review charts, and spot psychosocial and behavioral health needs early
  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to patients and families facing serious injury, grief, and loss
  • Complete PTSD screening and coordinate longitudinal follow-up after discharge
  • Link patients with behavioral health, substance use services, violence-related resources, and community supports
  • Handle complex discharge planning, working with Utilization Management and Rehabilitation
  • Partner with Trauma Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Nursing, and Addiction Services to remove barriers to recovery and safe reintegration
  • Document consistently in the electronic medical record using standardized trauma social work templates
  • Join morning meetings, rounds, and case conferences, and contribute to performance improvement and injury prevention work
  • Help teach staff and residents about trauma and social work best practices
  • Share in a seven-day coverage model, including weekends as assigned

Why You’ll Love This Opportunity

  • Direct-hire opportunity within a large, mission-driven public health system
