About the Opportunity
Our client is an AmLaw 200 law firm located in Manhattan that is seeking a skilled Bankruptcy Paralegal to join their team. This role requires strong knowledge of bankruptcy procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work in a fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will bring experience managing filings, coordinating case logistics, and ensuring smooth progression of bankruptcy cases from start to finish. They are currently operating on a hybrid schedule with 3 days a week in the office.
The annual base salary range is $110,000 to $155,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related documents for Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases
- Communicate with clients, creditors, and trustees to gather information and provide case updates
- Draft bankruptcy-related motions, notices, and correspondence
- Manage case deadlines and assist with hearings and court filings
- Maintain and organize client files in compliance with legal standards
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of Bankruptcy Paralegal experience at a law firm or in-house at a financial services firm
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
