About the Opportunity
Our client, a high-growth, private equity–backed provider of maintenance and repair services to commercial and residentialclients, is seeking a Controller / Accounting Manager to help scale the financial operations of its growing organization in the Dallas-Forth Worth area. With a rapidly expanding footprint and a strong focus on operational excellence, technology enablement, and strategic acquisitions, this is an opportunity to join a company in the midst of exciting transformation and expansion. The Controller will report directly to the CFO and play a key role in establishing financial infrastructure, optimizing controls, and driving business performance insights. The Accounting Manager will serve as a direct support partner to the Controller as the team continues to build best-in-class financial systems and processes.
The annual base salary range is $140,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the accounting function, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls, policies, and reporting standards to safeguard company assets
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance reports for both the branch and holding company
- Track financial and operational KPIs, budgets, and forecasts, providing actionable insights to leadership
- Direct general accounting, A/P, A/R, and treasury operations; manage payroll, tax compliance, and banking relationships
- Partner with the CFO and Senior Financial Analyst on annual audits, board reporting, investor deliverables, and ad hoc strategic initiatives
- Maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast and oversee cash management and disbursement approval processes
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development
- Support integration and financial alignment of new acquisitions
- Serve as a key financial partner in supporting growth, M&A, and operational strategy
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience, including 3+ years in a management capacity
- At least 2 years of public accounting experience (audit focus preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required;
- CPA required.
- MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
- Extensive percentage-of-completion accounting experience — required
- Prior exposure to private equity–backed or high-growth environments strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (required)
- Strong command of Office 365 and financial reporting tools
