About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading outpatient surgical center in Manhattan offering a wide range of specialized procedures. They are looking for a Healthcare Administrator to join their dedicated team in providing high-quality, efficient surgical services in a comfortable and patient-centered environment.
The annual base salary range is $150,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the surgery center, ensuring seamless functioning and compliance with healthcare standards
- Manage both professional and non-professional staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Build strong working relationships with the Medical Director, patients, families, physicians, their staff, and the community
- Financial Management:
- Prepare, monitor, and present annual budgets for the department, focusing on revenue performance and budgetary variances.
- Support key revenue cycle functions, including scheduling, insurance verification, co-pay collection, charge capture, and referral management.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize billing practices and enhance revenue collection
- Regulatory Compliance and Quality Improvement:
- Stay informed on regulatory and professional standards, ensuring the surgery center maintains full compliance
- Use creative approaches to develop and implement quality and performance improvement programs
- Utilize tracer methodology tools to identify areas for improvement and develop corrective action plans
- Program Development and Coordination:
- Plan and support program development within the department/division, coordinating administrative functions and aligning them with growth objectives
- Manage space allocation, technology procurement, data planning, and the development of goals and objectives
- Serve as a liaison with administration, planning and evaluating operational processes and adapting to market changes
- Human Resources Management:
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical and non-clinical personnel, ensuring efficient role execution
- Oversee staff scheduling, including vacations and holidays, to ensure adequate coverage
- Encourage staff growth by providing opportunities for professional development and advancement
- Technology and Operations Enhancement:
- Identify and implement technological solutions to improve operational efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of departmental budgets, capital equipment requests, and operational programs
- Coordinate and oversee residency and fellowship programs, ensuring compliance with educational standards
- Relationship Management:
- Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, visitors, and staff, fostering a positive and productive environment
- Coordinate resources across multiple administrative disciplines to prioritize program needs effectively
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in business administration, Health Care Administration, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital perioperative setting, with a strong background in revenue cycle management
- Strong fiscal management abilities and experience in budget preparation and monitoring
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of addressing queries from patients, physicians, and staff
- Ability to collaborate with administrative leadership, clinical chairs, and physicians to develop and manage clinical programs
