About the Opportunity
An established education network working to service children with visual impairment is currently seeking part-time Physical Therapist for their Jersey City location. This true temp to perm position can carry over to the 2024 school year.
The base pay for this position is $55 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Job Responsibilities
- Provide care to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities to promote physical, emotional and social growth
- Perform assessments of students known, or suspected of having, physical therapy needs
- Utilize evaluative tools and skills unique to physical therapists
- Participate in the process of creating physical therapy goals and objectives
- Review and implement each student’s IEP goals and objectives
- Plan and prepare written treatment program for each student
- Provide quarterly written progress reports
- Function as an active participant as a member of the transdisciplinary team
- Educate and assist student’s family in providing follow-up care
- Attend staff conferences and confer with other team members and consultants
- Communicate with parents in writing as needed
Job Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Physical Therapy
- New Jersey License to practice as a physical therapist
- NJDOE School Certification for Physical Therapy
- Proven experience working with special needs children and/or pediatric experience
