About the Opportunity
Our client, a prominent financial services and insurance firm, is seeking an SEC Reporting Senior Analyst to join their technical accounting and reporting team in Greenwich, CT. This hands-on position provides direct exposure to senior leadership and responsibility for critical SEC reporting and technical accounting processes in a collaborative, high-impact environment.
The annual base salary range is $100,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead preparation and review of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K) and US GAAP financial statements
- Conduct complex technical accounting research and analysis to support external and internal reporting
- Manage consolidation processes, including VIEs, intercompany eliminations, and cash flow statement reporting
- Research US GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements, implement new accounting standards, and ensure accurate financial statement presentation
- Analyze and resolve financial variances using robust accounting assessments
- Collaborate cross-functionally and with parent company teams to achieve reporting timelines
- Prepare analytics and reporting supporting disclosure checklists and regulatory requirements
- Support external audits and regulatory reviews through comprehensive workpaper documentation
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical accounting, SEC reporting, or public accounting; insurance industry exposure preferred
- Strong command of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including the ability to analyze and communicate treatment for complex transactions
- Proven analytical and research skills, with the ability to provide clear, actionable conclusions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Workiva (Wdesk) a plus
- Knowledge of Oracle, Essbase, and Hyperion preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA and/or FLMI designation preferred or in progress
- Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail and accuracy
