About the Opportunity
Our client, one of the most dynamic hedge funds in the industry, is actively hiring a Tax Manager to join their team in New York City. The annual base salary range is $175,000 to $225,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end process of federal, state, and local tax filings for both corporate and partnership structures by coordinating with external advisors and streamlining internal workflows
- Partner with internal stakeholders to advise on the tax implications of business activities, restructurings, and strategic initiatives
- Support the resolution of tax-related inquiries and regulatory matters, including audits and agency correspondence
- Address ongoing tax-related questions and contribute to proactive planning efforts
- Design and implement strategies to optimize the company’s overall tax profile
- Identify opportunities to improve tax reporting processes and enhance compliance accuracy
- Conduct research on evolving tax regulations and their potential impact on both the investment funds and management entities
- Monitor and analyze developments in domestic and global tax laws, such as Pillar Two, Section 174, and CbCR regulations
- Handle state and local tax requirements, including composite filings and indirect taxes like sales and use tax
- Support international tax planning and cross-border structuring as needed
- Prepare compliance filings for global reporting requirements, including FATCA, CRS, and CbCR
Job Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience at a major accounting firm focused on Hedge Fund Taxation
- In-house experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree
- Effective communicator with proficient research and writing capabilities
- Ability to be technologically nimble and understand how to automate processes
- Experience in process improvement initiatives is a plus
