About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading multi-strategy investment firm in Stamford, CT that is seeking a detail-oriented Valuation Analyst to join its Product Control & Pricing team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the daily and monthly valuation processes for a wide range of financial products, with a particular focus on OTC options and convertible securities. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of valuation experience, strong technical acumen, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
The base pay for this position is $40 to $45 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with mid-day and end-of-day pricing processes by compiling prices from various sources, uploading them into the accounting system, and distributing finalized data to administrators
- Maintain and update a tracker for both vanilla and complex OTC options priced via broker statements or Bloomberg models
- Identify and verify option details within broker statements; provide third parties with appropriate option identifiers
- Monitor and review broker-quoted option prices at month-end for accuracy and consistency
- Track stale pricing and proactively follow up with administrators, IT, and pricing vendors to ensure timely resolution
- Support firmwide P&L flash preparation and distribution at end-of-day
- Collect broker quotes for convertible bonds on the 1st and 2nd business day of each month
- Contribute to the preparation of the monthly Valuation Committee package
- Assist with ad hoc pricing-related inquiries from portfolio managers and senior team members
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field
- 1–3 years of product valuation experience in a buy-side or sell-side financial institution
- Strong understanding of pricing workflows for derivatives and fixed income securities; options valuation experience is a major plus
- Familiarity with Bloomberg and broker statements; experience working with pricing vendors preferred
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-intensity environment
