About the Opportunity:
This opportunity involves providing high-quality diagnostic imaging as a CT Technologist in a dynamic and fast-paced radiology department. The role includes performing CT procedures according to prescribed protocols, utilizing appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic images. It is a full-time contract position in which the technologist performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment, injects patients with radioactive material per physician's order, and follows radiation safety guidelines. The technologist observes all documentation policies by filling in logs and reporting equipment issues, maintains and retrieves patient films and electronic data for radiologist interpretation, and orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $60.50 to $71.50 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality diagnostic CT imaging using appropriate kV and mA techniques.
- Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment.
- Inject patients with radioactive material following prescribed protocols.
- Complete departmental documentation tasks and report equipment problems.
- Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests adhering to ALARA principles.
- Maintain and manage patient films and electronic data for interpretation.
- Order and verify patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses.
- Receive and verify radiopharmaceuticals per policy and procedure.
Job Requirements:
- Licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technologist.
- ARRT certification in Radiography and CT.
- BLS certification.
- At least 1 year of CT experience.
- Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program.
- Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak).
- Required skills in radiography, calibration, ARRT, and quality control.
- Additional skills in documentation, radiology, radiation safety, quality assurance, and radioactivity.
