About the Opportunity:
The Interventional Radiology Rad Tech provides specialized imaging services to patients, focusing on neurosurgery and neuroscience procedures. This full-time contract position operates on a 4×10-hour schedule with day shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as needed. The role requires proficiency in producing diagnostic-quality radiologic images and collaborating with departmental staff to resolve issues efficiently. Technicians should demonstrate sensitivity to patient rights and maintain professionalism at all times.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $68.75 to $81.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administers oral contrast as needed per exam.
- Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic or fluoroscopic examinations.
- Assists Radiologist during procedures.
- Operates x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems proficiently.
- Reports equipment malfunctions to manager or lead.
- Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner.
- Maintains medication security, granting access to authorized personnel only.
- Demonstrates competency in providing healthcare services across age groups.
- Utilizes HIS, RIS, and PACS efficiently and maintains confidentiality with patient data.
- Participates in hospital performance improvement activities as needed.
- Responds to technical inquiries from healthcare staff while maintaining phone etiquette.
Job Requirements:
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- Two years of experience in a relevant setting.
- Licensure in the state of New York.
- Experience in neurosurgery or neuroscience.
- ARRT certification.
- VIR experience is advantageous.
