About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technician to join our team. In this full-time contract position, you provide essential radiologic services, including patient preparation, assisting radiologists during procedures, and producing diagnostic quality images. You collaborate with department team members to address and resolve problems efficiently. The estimated base pay for these positions are $68.75 to $81.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
- Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently producing radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
- Operate all equipment proficiently and report malfunctions to the manager or lead.
- Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner and use time between procedures to assist others or with room turnover.
- Understand and maintain medication security limited to authorized personnel only.
- Provide health care services across all age groups demonstrating competency in interpersonal relationships.
- Utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.
- Participate in hospital performance improvement activities when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality using personal password and all patient care modules.
- Answer technical telephone inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel while maintaining good phone etiquette.
Job Requirements:
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Two years of experience in Interventional Radiology.
- NYS License or ability to obtain one prior to start.
- VIR Certification preferred.
