About the Opportunity:
The Sterile Processing Tech role involves assisting in the decontamination, high-level disinfection, assembling, sterilization, and distribution of clean and sterile surgical instruments, trays, and pans. This position operates in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced decontamination and sterilization equipment to support 35 O.R. Suites, AFC units, and clinics. This is a full-time contract position requiring night, weekend, holiday, on-call, and callback work per unit needs, totaling 40 hours per week.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $28.05 to $33.15 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, technical equipment, and surgical case carts.
- Operate steam sterilizers according to established procedures and perform simple maintenance tasks.
- Check and adjust medical equipment to ensure proper operation, sending non-compliant equipment for repair.
- Decontaminate surgical instruments following established cross-contamination prevention procedures.
- Receive, store, and document supplies from vendors and hospital areas, maintaining inventory par levels.
- Perform quality assurance checks on sterile supplies, instruments, and critical documentation.
Job Requirements:
- Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD).
- BLS certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Tech.
- Experience in large hospitals (500 beds or more).
- Minimum of 6 months of travel experience.
- Two professional references from the last two experiences.
- Level 1 trauma center experience preferred.
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER Cert) preferred.
- Orthopedic tray experience preferred.
