Dental – Dental Assistant

About the Opportunity:

The Dental Assistant provides a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. This involves handling a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations, ranging in complexity and skill. The position requires exceptional customer service and communication skills. This is a full-time contract position.

The estimated base pay for these positions are $24.75 to $29.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
  • Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing valuable information and support to both patients and colleagues through responsive interactions.
  • Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; positioning instruments for the dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
  • Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
  • Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
  • Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
  • Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
  • Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Demonstrate dedication to upholding a safe and hygienic work environment by strictly adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • 6 months of experience in the field.
  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Preferred certifications: CTCT Training, RDA.
