About the Opportunity:
We offer an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to deliver specialized care to patients with neurosurgical, neurology, and neurovascular conditions. This full-time contract position involves managing complex patient cases in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. RNs collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy, to ensure comprehensive patient care. The position requires flexibility in working 12-hour variable day/night shifts.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $53.90 to $63.70 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments and develop detailed care plans accommodating complex neurological conditions.
- Provide critical care therapies, including management of ventilation, invasive line monitoring, and sedation administration.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to comprehensive treatment strategies and patient care goals.
- Monitor patient progress, documenting changes and interventions accurately within the Epic charting system.
- Stay informed on best practices and advancements in neuro-intensive care and participate in trauma and emergency response protocols.
Job Requirements:
- Current CA RN License and BSN required.
- Certification in AHA BLS and ACLS necessary.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU settings required.
- Preferred experience in Neuro ICU, Trauma ICU, and NIHSS certification.
- Skills in arterial line management, ventilator care, and managing neuromuscular blockade are essential.
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
- Teaching hospital experience required.
