About the Opportunity:
The Patient Care Associate plays an essential role within the clinical care team by providing patient care and support activities that promote patient-focused care within the Specialty Service. Responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living activities, collecting specimens, performing procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $18.70 to $22.10 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform and record patients' vital signs and document intake and output.
- Conduct clinical procedures, including specimen collection and EKGs.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and orient them to the clinical environment.
- Assist with dietary functions, including delivering and collecting trays and reporting eating patterns to RN or Dietitian.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment and assist with room maintenance.
- Provide one-to-one or close observation for safety, elopement risk, or suicide prevention.
- Perform scheduled purposeful rounding on patients and document on rounding log.
- Utilize Vocera system as per protocol, where activated.
Job Requirements:
- EKG, BLS, and Phlebotomy certifications required.
- Minimum of two years of hospital experience required.
- Successful completion of the Patient Care Associate Orientation Program.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively within the Specialty Service.
- Ability to prioritize, solve problems, and use proper judgment.
- AHA HeartSaver or BLS certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required to prepare reports and deal with people.
