About the Opportunity:
This role provides care to patients in the Medical Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit. As a Registered Nurse, the position focuses on adults with a variety of conditions, including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, COPD, CHF, and pneumonia. This is a full-time contract position, with the shift scheduled from 6:30p-7a. Floating is required within the facility.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $48.34 to $57.13 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create individualized care plans for patients with conditions such as stroke and COPD.
- Provide education and therapy specific to patient needs, including IV and feeding tube management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress in the EMR system, EPIC.
- Stay informed on best practices and research relevant to stroke and general medical surgical care.
Job Requirements:
- Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications (NIH may be obtained prior to start).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical with stroke stepdown and documented travel experience.
- Experience with EMR systems, particularly EPIC.
- Active NY RN license verified via NURSYS report and all other active RN licenses.
- Skills checklist matching the specialization.
- Valid driver’s license with matching demographic information.
