About the Opportunity
Our client, a non for profit organization in Flushing, Queens, is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable ERISA Benefits Administrator to oversee and ensure compliance with Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) regulations. This position oversees the administration of employee benefit programs, including retirement, health, and welfare plans, ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in benefits administration, in-depth knowledge of ERISA regulations, and the ability to effectively collaborate with both internal teams and external vendors.
The annual base salary range is $120,000 to $165,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, etc.) in compliance with ERISA and other regulations
- Manage employee enrollments, disenrollments, and updates to benefits records
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party administrators to resolve benefits issues
- Ensure timely reporting to regulatory bodies (DOL, IRS, etc.) and distribute required plan documents
- Respond to employee questions regarding benefits, claims, and eligibility
- Stay up-to-date with changes in ERISA and benefits regulations
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in ERISA benefits administration
- Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other benefits regulations
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information
