About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading financial services firm located in Palm Beach County, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their HR team. This position is vital in driving operational excellence and ensuring accurate payroll processing for a talented, high-performing workforce. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing the entire payroll cycle – from collecting and verifying employee data to preparing tax documents and resolving discrepancies. In close collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams, this individual will update and maintain payroll records, oversee changes in exemptions, deductions, employment status, and department transfers, and audit payroll information to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Beyond core payroll duties, the Payroll Specialist will play a key role in identifying opportunities to enhance and automate payroll processes, prepare comprehensive reports, and deliver timely solutions to any payroll concerns. The annual base salary range is $75,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure the end to end processing of payroll
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Maintain and audit payroll information through collecting, calculating, entering, and uploading data
- Update payroll records, entering changes in exemptions, deductions, employment status, and department/division transfers
- Recommend ways to improve and automate payroll processes
- Prepare reports, compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Prepare tax documents firmwide
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and responding in a timely matter
Job Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Experience working at a financial services firm
