About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leading New York City hospital system, is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator to support inpatient Maternal Child Health services in Brooklyn, NY. This 13-week contract role will provide education coverage across Labor & Delivery, NICU, Mother Baby Unit (MBU), and Pediatrics.
This position requires a strong clinical foundation in Labor & Delivery, as the educator will support staff development, onboarding, and competency validation across multiple inpatient MCH units.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $53.90 to $63.70 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical education and staff development across L&D, NICU, MBU, and Pediatrics
- Lead onboarding and orientation for newly hired nursing staff
- Facilitate competency validation and skills assessments
- Support evidence-based practice initiatives within inpatient MCH units
- Educate staff on updated policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with nurse leadership to identify learning gaps and training needs
- Offer clinical coaching and support to bedside nursing teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of education sessions and competencies
Job Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited program
- Active New York State RN License
- AHA BLS Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience (required)
- Strong L&D clinical skill set
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Education strongly preferred
- Prior Nurse Educator or formal clinical teaching experience
