About the Opportunity:
The RN, PreOp role involves providing preoperative care to patients, including assessment, preparation, and education for surgical procedures. This part-time contract position requires candidates willing to float to various UCSF units and facilities as needed.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $45.65 to $53.95 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting preadmission testing and preoperative assessments.
- Providing preoperative education and preparation for patients.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and pharmacy.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress and vital signs.
- Staying informed on best practices in preoperative care.
Job Requirements:
- Valid CA RN License.
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in preadmission testing or preparation clinic.
- Experience with Epic charting system.
- Preferred preop/PACU and critical care experience.
- BSN degree required.
