About the Opportunity:
As a Dental Assistant, you assist the clinical team in providing high-quality patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. This role involves a variety of clinical duties essential for dental office operations, with significant opportunities for learning and growth. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $24.75 to $29.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing valuable information and support to both patients and colleagues through responsive interactions.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
- Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- X-Ray Certification and at least six months of experience.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
