About the Opportunity:
The Dental Assistant provides a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. This full-time contract position involves handling various clinical duties for dental office operations. The role requires exceptional customer service and communication skills to ensure patient comfort and effective office operations.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $30.25 to $35.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator, providing valuable information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist's access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing them on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
- Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Six-hour x-ray training certification.
- CPR card.
- Preferred: Nitrous oxide certification; Coronal polishing certification.
