About the Opportunity:
This part-time contract position involves providing psychiatric nursing care in a Level 1 ER setting. The Registered Nurse (RN) conducts intake assessments with patients and relatives, plans and administers nursing care, and collaborates with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to develop appropriate treatment plans. Responsibilities include administering medications, arranging further medical attention, maintaining patient confidentiality, and documenting patient information accurately.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $42.90 to $50.70 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives.
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
- Diagnose medical and emotional status of patients and recommend treatment options.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans.
- Administer psychotropic drugs and other medications, noting reactions.
- Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
- Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and treatment.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
- Monitor vital signs and ensure pain treatments.
- Document patient information on medical charts following physician orders.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Perform administrative tasks like filing, answering phones, and typing notes.
- Provide high-quality service to patients and the public.
Job Requirements:
- NY License ONLY
- BLS Certification (AHA) ONLY
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Experience with Telemetry
