About the Opportunity:
As a CT Technologist, you provide essential diagnostic imaging services to patients. You confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans, ensuring adherence to department policy for patient safety. Coordination with physicians is crucial to offer accurate diagnostic imaging. Preparing patients for procedures and ensuring their comfort, including inserting IVs when necessary, is an important part of your role. You position patients appropriately, sometimes assisting those with limited mobility, and ensure accurate documentation within EPIC, identifying images and sending them to the PACS system correctly. Maintaining a clean and safe scanning facility is essential. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $63.25 to $74.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan.
- Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.
- Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
- Position patients accordingly, utilizing safe patient handling.
- Maintain accurate patient record keeping and assure images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- NYS licensure (must obtain prior to starting position).
- Two (2) years' experience.
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience.
- BLS (American Heart Association only).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Patient and compassionate disposition.
- Injection certification preferred; must be willing to complete during orientation process.
- Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred.
