About the Opportunity:
This part-time contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) focuses on delivering high-acuity care to infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients. The role involves utilizing specialized nursing skills, such as managing ECMO protocols and caring for patients with various conditions post-cardiac surgery.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $60.50 to $71.50 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop appropriate care plans.
- Provide advanced care for post-cardiac surgery patients, including PICC line management and continuous sedation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.
- Stay informed on best practices for managing high-acuity pediatric patients.
Job Requirements:
- BSN required; completion of Nurse Residency Program if a new graduate.
- Current NYS RN Licensure.
- BLS, PALS certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant pediatric settings.
- Experience in Trauma Levels I or II preferred.
- Proficiency in using Epic charting system.
- Strong analytical skills to assess and deliver patient care effectively.
- Effective interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
